The roll: specify more than the material name

Fabrics and films can differ in thickness, surface condition and stretch. Photos help explain appearance; measurements and a material description make the equipment discussion more specific.

  • Material name, thickness, and any coating, adhesive backing or laminated layers.
  • Web width, roll outside diameter, core inside diameter and roll weight.
  • Whether the material stretches easily and whether pressure marks are acceptable.

The finished part: define both cutting directions

For multiple strips, specify the width of each strip and the strip count. For cross-cutting alone, provide the input width and each cut length. State tolerance separately so that target dimensions and acceptable variation are clear.

  • Minimum, typical and maximum finished dimensions.
  • Permitted length and width tolerances.
  • Requirements for fraying, edge finish and surface appearance.

Production conditions: describe the output you need

Specify target output at your usual cut length, batch quantity and intended operating schedule. Include available power and floor space. A speed shown in a video should not be treated as a guaranteed output for your material.

Samples and delivery: include them in the enquiry

Attach material close-ups, a finished-part drawing or a dimension sketch, and state whether a cutting sample is available. Include equipment quantity, destination and required schedule. Confirm packing, shipping, installation support and warranty terms during the discussion.

The enquiry page can organise these details into an email brief. Review and send it from your email application after generating it.
